1. Educational Simulation — No Real Banking Connections
The Family Bank is a closed educational simulation and family management tool. The App does not link or connect to real bank accounts, routing numbers, credit cards, or financial institutions. All balances, compound interest accruals, chore allowances, and transaction ledgers within the App are virtual representations intended solely for teaching financial intelligence and organizing household tasks.
2. Children's Privacy and COPPA Compliance
We are fully committed to complying with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and international child privacy frameworks. Our system is architected to protect children's identities and privacy by design:
- No Child Email or Password Required: Children do not register accounts with personal email addresses, phone numbers, or passwords.
- Secure 6-Digit Device Pairing: A child links their device (iPhone or iPad) solely using a temporary, parent-generated 6-digit numeric pairing code provided in the parent portal.
- Parental Authority & Oversight: Child profiles (such as display nicknames, virtual balances, chore lists, and interest rates) are created and managed exclusively under the parent's account.
- No Social Feeds or Open Communication: The App contains no public chat rooms, social networking features, or open forums. All communications and requests (such as task completion notes or purchase requests) occur privately and strictly between paired family members.
3. Information We Collect
We only collect the minimal information necessary to provide the App's family synchronization and educational features:
- Parent Account Information: When a parent creates an account, we may collect an email address or authentication token (e.g., Sign in with Apple) to manage family access and synchronization.
- Family & Child Profile Data: First names or nicknames, avatar selections, virtual chore lists, virtual savings milestones, allowance amounts, and simulated ledger transactions. This data is strictly associated with your private family group.
- Device & Diagnostic Data: Non-personally identifiable diagnostic information (such as operating system version, device model, and crash logs) to monitor stability, prevent bugs, and improve app performance.
4. No Third-Party Advertisements or Tracking
We believe in a distraction-free, child-safe environment. The Family Bank contains zero third-party advertising. We do not sell, rent, or trade your or your child's data to data brokers or third parties, and we do not use tracking frameworks (such as IDFA) for behavioral advertising.
5. Cloud Synchronization and Security
To enable real-time synchronization between parent and child devices, data is transmitted securely and stored in encrypted cloud databases. We implement industry-standard encryption protocols (in transit via HTTPS/TLS and at rest) to safeguard your family's information against unauthorized access, disclosure, or alteration.
6. Data Retention and Parental Rights
Parents retain complete ownership and control over their family's data at all times. You have the right to:
- Review the information stored in your family's account.
- Edit, update, or remove child profiles, chore records, or ledger history directly within the App.
- Permanently delete your entire family account and all associated child data through the in-app settings or by contacting us directly.
